Mozambican singer Dilon Djindji has been hospitalized since Friday at Maputo Central Hospital, the country's largest health facility, where he underwent intensive care.
The marrabenta icon also underwent intensive observation at the Mavalane General Hospital, before being transferred to the HCM, reports O Pais.
In fact, the musician had first been taken to Marracune hospital in Maputo province, according to his eldest son António D. Djindi.
The doctors observing the singer say that his clinical condition is currently stable, but he still needs care.
"We are all committed to doing our best," said Anelsa Daniel, a pulmonologist at the HCM.
The Minister of Culture and Tourism, Edlvina Materula, visited Djindji this Saturday and said that the 96-year-old musician's state of health is critical. She said that there was a medical team dedicated to providing all possible support to the embodiment of Mozambican music.
"The best way to pay tribute to, support and be close to Dilon is to listen to, consume and buy his recordings," he said.
