The Southern African Development Community Military Mission (SAMIM) that supported Mozambique in the fight against terrorism will formally leave the country next week, the President of the Republic said on Monday in the city of Beira.
In this regard, Filipe Nyusi, who will be visiting Tanzania for four days from today, put on the agenda of the talks the continuity of support in the fight against terrorism in Cabo Delgado and maritime piracy.
"As of next week, SAMIM will formally leave," he said, stressing, however, that Tanzania will continue to cooperate with Mozambique on a bilateral basis.
"We're also interested in deepening relations of cooperation, solidarity, friendship and the modus operandi at a time when terrorists are trying to show their existence since SAMIM is leaving," he said.
On the other hand, the PR said that the concern is limited to economic diplomacy. And, in this sense, during his visit to Tanzania he will seek to establish partnerships as he did during his recent visit to Zambia. (Source: Rádio Moçambique).
