The draw made on Friday (14) for the Council of Southern African Football Associations (COSAFA) tournament placed Mozambique, South Africa, e-Suatini and Botswana in Group "A".
Mozambique and South Africa met in the final of 2008 and in the semi-finals of 2021, and in every encounter the South Africans came out on top.
Mozambique (2) met e-Suatini (4) in 2021 in the third-place play-off.
Botswana are the Mambas' opponents in qualifying for the 2026 World Cup, the national team having won the first round 3-1 in Johannesburg.
The 2024 edition of COSAFA will be held in the South African city of Durban from the 26th and will feature 12 teams.
Group B is made up of Zambia, Comoros, Zimbabwe and another team yet to be confirmed, while Group C will include Angola, Namibia, Lesotho and Seychelles.
In the last edition, last year, the Mambas finished in the group stage after a win, a loss and a draw.
