Teachers at Moamba Secondary School, in Maputo province, are paralyzing classes this morning due to the lack of overtime pay.
Carrying placards that read "pay overtime", the white-coated teachers left their classrooms and paraded through the streets shouting "help, help, and demand overtime pay".
The government hasn't paid teachers' overtime for more than two years.
This scenario has caused a wave of protest in several schools in Maputo province since last year.
The Minister of Education and Human Development also guaranteed last year that the payment of overtime to teachers was being made "gradually".
However, the teachers deny the claim and demand that overtime payments be made. According to them, the government is not telling the truth.
