The national soccer team, the Mambas, returned to the country today, Wednesday, after their participation in the African Nations Championship (CAN) 2023, which is taking place in Ivory Coast.

The Mambas are carrying their best performance in the history of the tournament on their backs, after being in a challenging group, considered the "group of death".

Despite occupying last place in Group B, the national team, according to Desafio, impressed with two draws against Egypt and Ghana, both 2-2, and a defeat against Cape Verde (3-0).

With four goals scored and seven conceded, Mozambique set a new standard for themselves, achieving a performance they had never achieved since their debut in this prestigious continental competition.
