Gaza: Chinese entrepreneurs plan to set up sesame processing center in Chongoene

Chinese businessmen are planning to set up a sesame processing and export center near the Chongoene dock in Gaza, in the province of Ubei, in the People's Republic of China..

The claim was made last Thursday in Xai-Xai by a delegation of Chinese businesspeople who are in Gaza as part of a visit by the vice-governor of Ubei province.

In the first phase, according to Rádio Moçambique, the Chinese intend to support Gaza province by supplying qualified seeds and transferring sesame production technology, a crop considered to have a high commercial yield.

The investors are also committed to absorbing all the sesame production, which is why they have asked the provincial government of Gaza to mass-produce this crop among the producers.

Reacting to this claim, the governor of Gaza assured the Chinese businesspeople that the government is already working to massify sesame cultivation in all the districts of the province, especially in the north.

Margarida Mapandzene Chongo said that this year alone, the agriculture sector is preparing more than 300 hectares for sesame production, which could gain new momentum with the guarantee of the Chinese market.

Gaza province is currently cooperating with Ubei province by transferring rice production and processing technology.
