The moderate tropical storm "Freddy", located in the Mozambique Channel 370 km off the north coast of Inhambane province, has intensified to the category of severe tropical storm, reports Rádio Moçambique.

According to the National Meteorological Institute (INAM), its epicentre will hit the province of Inhambane, between the districts of Govuro and Vilankulo, in the early hours of today.

According to information provided by Televisão Pública, it has been raining in Vilanculo and with strong winds since the early hours of today. In view of this scenario, INAM recommends taking precautionary and safety measures.
