Galp integrates Bloomberg's Gender Equality Index

Galp integra Índice de Igualdade de Género da Bloomberg

Galp was included in the 2023 Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index (GEI), a reference index that measures gender equality in pillars such as leadership and talent pipeline; equal pay and gender pay parity; inclusive culture; policies against sexual harassment; and brand image.

Galp achieved an overall score of 85,75%, an improvement on the 82% of 2022, and above the average of 73%, standing out with a maximum score in pay parity and results in the top quartile in the indicators of inclusive culture and policies against sexual harassment.

The GEI 2023 index is global in scope, representing 45 countries and regions. The companies included in the index are part of 11 sectors, including finance, technology and public services, which have continued to represent the majority of companies in the index since 2022.

"Galp is transforming very quickly to be more sustainable, changing its business, operations and the energy it supplies to customers. But it's not changing its desire to compare itself with the best, nor its duty of transparency, nor its culture based on merit and equality among its employees," says Filipe Silva, Galp's CEO. "We are happy to be included in the index, as it reflects our progress in ESG indicators, which we always want to keep improving," he concludes.

The inclusion in the GEI is in addition to other top ratings that Galp achieved in 2022 in global sustainability indices: in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices it is the most sustainable company in the sector; in the CDP for Climate Change it occupies the Leadership band; in Sustainalytics it is in the top 5; and finally, in the MSCI, it has an AAA rating.
