Festive season: CTA expects 50 thousand tourists to enter the country

Quadra festiva: CTA prevê a entrada de 50 mil turistas no país

After Covid 19, which devastated several areas and especially the tourism sector, a new oxygen balloon has been blowing up in the national tourism sector.

And the figures presented today by the Confederation of Economic Associations of Mozambique (CTA) confirm this. In terms of international tourism, by the end of the year, the business class linked to tourism expects to welcome more than 50,000 visitors to the country.

With the issue of visa facilitation by the government, "I would say that the indicators are starting to be more positive, more encouraging. We had a growth of more than 100% in tourist reception compared to 2021 to 2022," said Muhamad Abdula, president of the CTA's tourism department.

The president of the tourism department, who was speaking today in Maputo as part of the preparations for the festive season, also revealed that more than 300,000 tourists have already entered the country in the run-up to the festive season.
