The Prime Minister of South Korea, Han Duck-soo, will visit Mozambique on Wednesday 30th to promote his country's candidacy for the organization of Expo 2030, the universal exposition, his office announced.
During the visit, the South Korean prime minister will meet with the authorities to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation.
On Thursday, Han leaves Mozambique for an official visit to Ghana.
South Korea plans to host the world exhibition in the southern port city of Busan, where the floating natural gas liquefaction platform operating in northern Mozambique, one of the few in the world, was built.
The launching ceremony a year ago brought together the heads of state of both countries, Filipe Nyusi and Moon Jae-in (who has since been succeeded by Yoon Sukyeol).
South Korea is competing with Saudi Arabia and Italy to organize Expo 2030.
Universal exhibitions are held every five years and Portugal organized the 1998 event (Expo 98), which at the time was dedicated to the theme "The Oceans". (Toad)
