The French oil company TotalEnergies granted 17 scholarships to the same number of Mozambican beneficiaries who left, this Tuesday, for France.
The students will attend courses related to the oil and gas area, such as Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical Engineering.
Total, quoted by STV, said that the scholarships came about to help train staff to meet the needs of major projects.
"The young people will come back better able to contribute to the development of their communities, in companies and elsewhere," said Jennifer Cheveie, Vice President of Corporate Affairs for TotalEnergies.
For his part, the representative of the French embassy, considered that the commitment of his country and the oil company is to train and empower young Mozambicans to work for Mozambique. And said that the initiative will continue in subsequent years, on an annual basis.
