The Super Boa Farm company, of national capital, will invest about 225 million meticais for the planting of cashew trees, on a large scale, in the administrative post of Macuacua, Mandlakazi district.

The project is in the pilot phase. According to the Notícias newspaper, about one thousand hectares are available, and in the next phase, which is expected to be implemented in the coming months, six thousand more will be cultivated, totaling seven thousand.

It is expected that the implementation of the megaproject will increase the population's income, as well as the availability of raw material to feed the province's processing plants, according to Almeida Guilume, spokesman of the 9th Ordinary Session of the Provincial Executive Council (CEP), quoted by Notícias.

The source reveals that the project will allow for the creation of new business opportunities for micro and small companies, as well as for the creation of 30 fixed jobs and 110 seasonal jobs, with priority given to women in this administrative post.

"It is a project with good prospects. Local labor will benefit from technical training to ensure its vitality.

But there is also an incentive package for the multiplication of cashew trees, where we intend to assign 100 seedlings to each family," he said.

Also according to the same source, the company may support, in light of the project, the improvement of access roads, opening of boreholes for water supply, expansion of electricity, and in pre-professional internships for local women and youth.

According to the spokesperson, cashew nut production is the bet of the current executive of Gaza for the diversification of the local economy, with several projects to promote the crop underway in several districts of the province.
