As part of the national independence day celebrations, the Maputo City Council informs the general public and the drivers in particular that during the week of June 20 to 26, work will be underway to prepare for cultural and sporting activities that should take place on Saturday, June 25.

For this reason, the municipality informs that mobility around Independence Square will be restricted.

The Municipality says in the document that as of June 20th the circulation of vehicles in the central ring of the Independence Square as well as the central axis of Samora Machel Avenue, in the perimeter between the Independence Square and Zedequias Manganhela Avenue will be forbidden.

From June 24, within the perimeter between Karl Max and Vladimir Lenine Avenues, 24 de Julho Avenue and 25 de Setembro Avenue.

Vehicles will not be allowed to drive on the following roads:

Ho Chi Min Avenue (between Karl Marx Avenue and Olof Palm)

Josina Machel Avenue (between Karl Marx and Independence Square)

Zedequias Manganhela Avenue (between Karl Marx Avenue and Vladimir Lenine Avenue)

Avenida Fernão de Magalhães (between Karl Marx and Av. Samora Machel)

East Municipal Street,

West Municipal Street.
