The Tax Authority collected about 114 million meticais in tax revenues from internal and external taxes between January and February in Niassa province.
According to the newspaper "Notícias", 11 million meticais are more than the 103 million meticais target for public revenue collection for the period in question.
The overcoming of the established goal was due to the growing socio-economic environment in the province as well as the operational results of the TA, according to Manuel Quinze, delegate of the institution in that part of the country.
"With these factors we hope that by the end of the year we will achieve encouraging results in terms of public revenue collection," he said.
This year, the TA in Niassa expects to inject into the state coffers about 830 million meticais from internal and external revenues.
The Niassa province collects, through the Tax Authority of Mozambique, internal and external taxes from the border crossings with neighboring Malawi and the United Republic of Tanzania.
