Extraordinary SADC Troika Summit on Defense and Security Postponed

The extraordinary summit of the troika of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) body for Politics, Defense and Security, which was to have taken place this Monday in Pretoria, South Africa, has been postponed to a date to be announced.

The information was advanced this Sunday by the South African Minister of International Relations and Cooperation.

Naledi Pandor said that the postponement is due to the overloaded agendas of the presidents of Mozambique and Botswana.

The South African diplomatic chief was speaking, in Pretoria, at the opening of the extraordinary meeting of the Ministerial Committee of the SADC troika, extended to Mozambique and countries that contribute with troops from the region's military force, which operates in Cabo Delgado.

Mozambique is represented at this meeting by a delegation headed by the Minister of National Defense, Cristóvão Chume.
