The province of Gaza will host, this Friday, a seminar of socialization and harmonization of the study on the ecosystem of the value chain of corn in Mozambique.
The meeting, organized by the Mozambique Cereals Institute (ICM), in partnership with the International Growth Center (IGC), will take place under the theme "Strengthening Partnerships and Synergies with the Actors of the Agricultural Commercialization Chain, Towards Production Dynamization.
The meeting takes place in compliance with the ICM's attributions relative to the promotion, structuring, dynamization, and modernization of the value chain of the agricultural commercialization of cereals, pulses, and oilseeds with an impact on the development of agro-industry and on the balancing of imports and exports with national production and consumption.
According to a note from ICM, the two institutions conducted a study on the corn value chain, focusing on the marketing component, with a view to contributing to the development of appropriate policies to stimulate the growth of foreign and domestic trade of agricultural products.
At the event, pressing issues will be touched upon, with emphasis on the corn seed production program, the constitution of indicative reference price management committees, market linkages under the Sustenta program, and reflection on corn for the poultry industry.
