According to the general director of the Central Regional Water Administration, some regions of the lower Zambezi will continue to experience flooding due to the sharp increase in hydrometric levels of water over the next forty-eight hours.
These are the regions of Mutarara and Doa in Tete province, Chemba, Caia and Marromeu in Sofala, Mopeia, Chinde, Luabo in Zambezia and Tambara in Manica.
This is due to the contributions that the Zambezi basin is making due to the runoff from the Chire and Revubue rivers and the rains that continue to fall in these regions.
The information was revealed this Wednesday, in Tete, by the General Director of the Regional Administration of Central Water, during Radio Mozambique's Café da Manhã.
In view of the increased flow in the main watersheds as a result of moderate tropical storm Ana, it reiterates the appeal to families, who insist on remaining in the at-risk areas, to abandon to safe places.
ARA Centro will continue to monitor the hydrometric situation in the basins of the central region of the country.
