The National Institute of Meteorology (INAM) forecasts the occurrence of moderate to heavy rains, accompanied by thunderstorms and severe winds, from the end of the day on Thursday, in the provinces of Maputo and Gaza.

In Maputo province, the districts of Matutuíne, Boane, Namaacha, Marracuene, Moamba, Magude, Manhiça, and the cities of Maputo and Matola will be affected.

In Gaza, bad weather will affect the districts of Bilene, Limpopo, Chibuto, Chongoene, Massangena, Mabalane, Guijá, Mandlakazi, towns of Chókwé and Xai-Xai.

A statement from INAM reports that the system will progressively affect the provinces of Inhambane, Sofala and Manica, with rains that could occur in moderate to heavy regime, accompanied by thunderstorms, starting Friday morning.

In view of the occurrence of heavy rains, thunderstorms and associated phenomena, INAM recommends taking precautionary and safety measures.
