Verónica Macamo attends China-Africa cooperation forum

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Veronica Macamo, is participating in the 8th Ministerial Conference of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), to be held in Dakar, capital of the Republic of Senegal, says a statement of the ministry.

The conference, on the theme of "deepening the Sino-African partnership and promoting sustainable development to build a China-Africa community with a shared future in the new era." The African and Chinese foreign ministers want to interact on the basis of the agenda, which includes the vision of China-Africa cooperation 2035, combating climate change, the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as evaluating the implementation of the decisions of the 2019 FOCAC conference.

According to the statement, on the sidelines of the meeting, Minister Macamo will hold working meetings with the foreign ministers of China, Wang Yi, Senegal Tall Sall and Ghana, Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey.
On her trip, Minister Macamo will be accompanied by the Vice-Minister of Economy and Finance, Carla Fernandes, and the director of the Directorate for Asia and Oceania at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Ismael Valligy.
