The government announced this Friday that it is considering reopening the beaches, but this can only occur upon the presentation of a specific plan by the leaders and/or presidents of the municipal councils where the resorts are located.
According to the vice-minister of culture and tourism, Fredson Bacar, who was speaking at the end of the meeting held today in the city of Vilankulo, the presidents of the municipal councils will have to present specific plans on how, for example, they can avoid crowding on the beaches, as well as the consumption of alcoholic beverages.
"The idea is that by the end of the year and depending on the evolution of the pandemic situation, exceptions will be made for some beaches that the local authority leaders may have presented a feasible safety plan," said the governor.
The government has banned beaches across the country as part of measures to contain the spread of the covid-19 pandemic.
