The country will introduce vaccine against cervical cancer for girls at the age of nine. This is an action developed by the Ministry of Health (MISAU), in collaboration with the Office of the First Lady and partners, which aims to introduce the vaccine against cervical cancer for this age group in the national vaccination calendar, starting November 24.
"The vaccine is intramuscular and will be given in two doses separated by a six-month interval," reads the MoH statement.
In a statement, the Ministry of Health also said that the introduction of the vaccine is part of the efforts to prevent and control the disease in the country, and to reduce morbidity and mortality from cervical cancer.
