Catholic Church is concerned about the high cost of living in Cabo Delgado

Mozambique's Catholic bishops call for alleviation of suffering in Cabo Delgado, as high cost of living for disadvantaged people and "dramatic humanitarian situation," target of Islamic State attacks.

Meeting in Marracuene, the spokesperson for the Bishops' Council of Mozambique, Bishop Carlos Nunes, said that everything must be done, urgently, to mitigate the suffering of the people, especially the humanitarian issue in Cabo Delgado.

"This issue results in several displaced people and accentuates the precarious living conditions of many of our Mozambican brothers and sisters," the prelate noted, stressing also that "the cost of living has increased in Mozambique.

The Bishops' Conference of Mozambique, discussed the political and social situation, in particular the humanitarian crisis in Cabo Delgado as well as the precarious situation of young people.
