Government projects agricultural growth of 13.9% by next year. This is a projection presented, this Friday in Manica, by the President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, at the launch of the agrarian campaign 2021/2022.
According to the Head of State, this growth represents a production value of about 321 billion meticais at current market prices. Also contributing to this forecast is the growth of the livestock sector with a growth forecast of 8%.
For the current agricultural season, Filipe Nyusi said that in general, positive growth was recorded in almost all crop groups, where in cereals.
"The growth was 12%, bringing the total production of these to 2.2 million tons, driven by the growth of rice production by 19% and maize by 13%. This is not only in Chókwè, even if you go to Zambézia and other provinces," he said.
