The Fernando Leite Couto Foundation (FFLC), in co-production with the Directorate of Culture of the Eduardo Mondlane University (UEM), will premiere the play "Chovem Amores na Rua do Matador" (It?s raining Loves in Matador Street), on November 11th, at 6pm, at the University Cultural Center of the UEM.
The season will be open to the public on November 12/13,19 and 26/27.
The show is the result of an adaptation by Mozambican writer Mia Couto of the short story with the same title written by him and Angolan writer José Eduardo Agualusa in the book "Elegant Terrorist". The staging was done by Maria Clotilde and Vitor Gonçalves.
"Chovem Amores na Rua do Matador" has a cast composed of students and faculty members from UEM's School of Communication and Art, namely Angelina Chavango, Horácio Guiamba, Joana Mbalango, Josefina Massango, and Violeta Mbilane.
Evaro de Abreu did the set, Sara Machado did the costumes, and Ademar Chauque did the choreography. The music is by Shigeru Umebayashi, the sound design is by Pedro Pinto, and the lighting is by Quito Tembe. Clotilde Guirrugo and Pablo Ribeiro are in the Production Direction.
