Cashew nut producers, from the family sector in Zambezia, may earn 731 million meticais, in the marketing campaign that starts on November 25.
The expectation was advanced by the Delegate of the Mozambique Almond Institute, in Zambezia.
Elidido Bacar told Radio Mozambique that the province plans to commercialize 17,000 tons of cashew nuts.
If the goal is reached it will represent a growth in the order of 8% compared to last campaign.
This year, the technical council of the Almond Institute, meeting last month, recommended 43 meticais as the reference price per kilogram when buying from the producer.
The Delegate of the Almond Institute of Mozambique in Zambezia, Elidio Bacar, explained that the perspective of the reference price is to benefit all actors of the cashew sub-sector.
Official data, indicate that in Zambezia Province, more than three thousand producers are dedicated to the cultivation of cashew nuts, an almond considered an income-producing product.
