The signal migration process of Televisão de Moçambique (TVM) will be concluded next December with the switch from analog to digital transmission.
The President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, who was speaking after inaugurating the new TVM headquarters building in Maputo, which served for the official launch of the digital signal of this television station, stressed that this achievement represents the improvement of the expansion of television that can be seen in some countries in the region and the world.
He noted that in relation to television access there is also record of a good pace of adhesion. "For example, until October 2020, TMT had distributed 100 thousand decoders, but after the launch of the signal in Beira, the adhesion accelerated and currently about 300 thousand have been delivered. The perspective is that by the end of this year the service provider will have covered the 400,000 families foreseen in the project," he indicated.
The statesman stressed that the digital migration process is irreversible.
"Facing the new reality we encourage this television station to continue investing in equipment, privileging partnerships with other operators in the production of contents to guarantee the continuous offer of services in a sustainable way," he exhorted.
