The World Tourism Organization (WTO) and Google have signed an agreement to focus on harnessing the power of innovation, education and data to drive a sustainable and inclusive recovery of global tourism.
In a statement released this Monday, the United Nations specialized agency and the technology giant say they will design training courses for destination management organizations and use a training program developed by Google.
Through these sessions, destinations can be digitized and adapt the training to their specific circumstances and challenges.
This new program complements joint initiatives such as the Tourism Acceleration Program, which is to be expanded globally, as well as a data sharing agreement for Google's Travel Insights.
In addition, Google will support a number of WTO initiatives and together they will collaborate on tourism-related research projects.
