A pastor has been arrested in California, USA, and accused of paying two men 40,000 dollars to kill his daughter's boyfriend. 

The arrest of Samuel Pasillas, 47, took place on March 13 after several months of investigation. According to KWTX, quoted by News to the MinuteThe crime took place on October 21 of last year, when the car the victim was riding in was shot at several times. One of the shooters has also been arrested, while another is still on the run.

The pastor's daughter's boyfriend revealed that a car pulled up next to his, next to a STOP sign, and that several shots were fired. The victim managed to get to the nearest hospital, where he received assistance.

Police were able to ascertain that the shooting was organized by the leader of a Spanish-speaking church in Victorville, who had ordered the victim's death from two men, whom he met and paid to commit the crime. The authorities believe that it was the pastor who provided the shooters with information about the victim, including his location on the night of the shooting.

"There's nothing about this victim that would make anyone want to shoot him or have him shot. He's a good, church-going young man," said a Riverside police officer, Ryan Railsback.

Although the pastor's motives are still unknown, the police believe that Pasillas acted out of religious beliefs and because he was "overprotective" of the young woman.
