EMOSE and Chamber of Commerce join forces to create SME financing facilities

EMOSE e Câmara de Comércio juntam-se na criação de facilidades de financiamento das PME

The Mozambican Insurance Company (EMOSE) in partnership with the Mozambican Chamber of Commerce (CCM) are bringing solutions to facilitate access to financing for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), so they can leverage their business.

To the Notícias newspaper, Joaquim Maqueto Langa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of EMOSE, explained that through new solutions SMEs will be able to strengthen their cash flow, as well as export or invest in technical capacity, especially to meet the demands of the "Oil and Gas" industry and other megaprojects.

The source justified the company's action with the observation that access to financing continues to be one of the great challenges for SMEs.

"EMOSE partners with SMEs and commercial banks in the process of accessing finance. By the nature of its business, our company has been protecting commercial banks from the non-financial risks that can negatively affect their lending activity, through its product portfolio," said Joaquim Langa.

According to the PCA, Emose's portfolio includes life insurance for borrowers up to the value of the loans, and property insurance for movable and immovable assets that are transferred to the banks by borrowers.

"The company has been offering warranty insurance products to companies for business and contract execution, through guarantees of good performance and operational guarantees of good payment," he said.

For the leader, some of these instruments are only possible to implement because of the "integrated vision that the institution has in the business field in Mozambique and also to gain indicators of financial autonomy and solvency to honor the commitments in the face of any claim, that is, also valued by large companies in the state sector, private companies, and the Government itself.
