PR appoints Matilde Monjane de Almeida to the post of Vice-President of the Supreme Court

PR nomeia Matilde Monjane de Almeida ao cargo de Vice-presidente do Tribunal supremo

The President of the Republic, Daniel Chapo, using the powers conferred on him by the Constitution of the Republic, appointed Matilde Augusto Monjane Maltez de Almeida to the post of Vice-President of the Supreme Court.

Maltez de Almeida has been a Counsellor Judge at the Supreme Court since September 2012 and was appointed in the same year to the position of President of the Administrative Council of the Cofre dos Tribunales.

More recently, in September 2024, she was awarded the Medal of Merit for Work, instituted by the Mozambican state with the aim of recognizing and encouraging workers and citizens to practice hard, productive and creative work, which is necessary for the creation of the material, social and cultural well-being of all the people, the statement from the presidency said.
