Around 1,200 customers in the towns of Chingoe, Messano, Zucula, Bucuine and Motasse, in the district of Bilene, Gaza province, have been without electricity since yesterday, due to the overturning of a medium-voltage pole by a light vehicle on the Xinavane Line.

After the accident, EDM's technical teams went into the field to ensure that the normal electricity supply was restored to the affected areas.

However, due to the severity of the damage, EDM will have to replace the equipment, which means that normalizing the electricity supply may take longer, according to a press release issued by the company.

In the same press release, EDM calls on the community watchdog to report any occurrences that jeopardize the integrity of electrical infrastructures, by calling 800 145.
