"Zuck Buck": Meta's digital currency may be on the way

Meta, Facebook's parent company, is evaluating the possibility of moving forward with a digital currency. If this is to happen it will be called "Zuck Buck," according to the engadget portal.

Despite the failure of the first attempt to launch its digital currency, Meta has not moved from its path. Sources on the portal say it would not be a cryptocurrency, but could be managed centrally.

The company is also considering similar rewards for its biggest social media contributors, such as "creative coins" for Instagram influencers and "reputation tokens" for Facebook group participants. They may also see conventional financial services such as small business loans.

The "Zuck Buck" and these bonuses are still in the embryonic stage and may be cancelled or changed as they are developed.
