Venâncio Mondlane is no longer Ossufo Momade's political advisor

Venâncio Mondlane já não é assessor político de Ossufo Momade

Venâncio Mondlane is no longer Ossufo Momade's political advisor. The information was made public on Thursday, 18.01, by Renamo spokesman José Manteiga.

Renamo says that Venâncio Mondlane's removal has nothing to do with his desire to be president of Renamo.

On the contrary, according to Renamo party spokesman José Manteiga, quoted by "O País", the withdrawal is intended to give Venâncio Mondlane time to prepare his candidacy for the party presidency.

It should be noted that Ossufo Momade's five-year term as Renamo leader came to an end on the 17th of this month, and the National Commission must urgently set the dates for the Congress to elect the new governing body.

Meanwhile, without giving any dates, the Renamo spokesman said that the party was currently working on preparing for the Renamo congress, at which the new Renamo president could be elected.
