The Maputo City State Representation Council has expressed interest in establishing a partnership with the Polytechnic University, with a view to training state agents in the areas of education, health, employment and assistance to people in vulnerable situations.
This intention was expressed on Wednesday, April 11, in Maputo, by the Secretary of State for Maputo City, Vicente Joaquim, during his visit to the Polytechnic University, with the aim of deepening the mechanisms of collaboration and articulation with that private higher education institution.
On the occasion, Vicente Joaquim said that it was in the government's interest to explore the contribution that the Polytechnic University could make to the adoption of more appropriate strategies for the development of the country's capital in various areas, with particular emphasis on the agents of the National Criminal Investigation Service (SERNIC).
"We are proposing the introduction of courses aimed at our employees in specific areas of the corporation, namely the National Criminal Investigation Service, in the field of information and communication technologies, due to the challenges they face on a daily basis in their work," explained Vicente Joaquim.
For his part, the rector of the Polytechnic University, Narciso Matos, said that his institution was open to collaborating in this direction, and was also keen to work together with other institutions in Maputo city.
"As you have seen, there is potential for special courses for state agents in various sectors. On the other hand, it is in our interest for our students to complete their training by doing internships in Maputo City institutions," concluded the rector. (Information Note)
