Lawyer Alexandre Chivale has been detained since early this afternoon in Maputo as part of a criminal case of disobedience to the court, reports "Notícias", citing a source from the Attorney General's Office.
At the moment, the defendant is awaiting questioning by the investigating judge who will determine the bail measure, which could be the legalization of the arrest or release, adds the publication.
It should be noted that Alexandre Chivale represented Ndambi Guebuza, António Carlos do Rosário and other defendants in the trial of the hidden debts case, and was barred from practicing by judge Efigénio Baptista at the time.
The impediment comes in the wake of two requests submitted by the Public Prosecutor's Office, which stated that the lawyer was incompatible and prevented from defending himself in the trial because he was allegedly an agent of the State Information and Security Service (SISE).
Another reason for ordering the lawyer's arrest was that he was unwilling to cooperate with the court in the search for material evidence.
