Standard Bank has recently integrated, in its staff, a total of 30 young graduates, after having benefited from professional training, through the Graduate Development Program 2021, implemented by the bank.
This is a 12-month program that has been running for 14 years with the aim of creating opportunities for young people to enter the job market and improve their professional skills. It fits in the social responsibility strategy of career development for young people.
The 30 young graduates, now absorbed by the bank, were selected from a universe of about 3,000 candidates who applied to the program, corresponding to the 2021 edition.
During the closing ceremony of the program, held recently in Maputo, the managing director of Standard Bank, Bernardo Aparício, said that the bank invested in the training of 30 young people, providing them with professional skills.
"It was months of intensive training, which included classroom training, virtual training, and on-the-job training, during which the new graduates performed their day-to-day jobs," he stressed.
The integration of the 30 young people in the labor market, as he emphasized, resulted from the quality, commitment, and engagement with the bank, demonstrated during the course of the program.
"Your integration into the bank is not only the result of the training we have done, but also of the effort you have made to deserve a place at Standard Bank," he said.
The young people who have joined Standard Bank's staff are aged between 18 and 25 years old and have degrees in various areas, including Finance, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Law and Digital Marketing.
Merunisse Munguambe, speaking on behalf of all the graduates, said that "the Graduate Development Program was very challenging. It stimulated knowledge that we didn't even know we had. I believe that Standard Bank is not only a house where we work, but it is also a great house of knowledge."
It should be noted that under the Graduate Development Program, in 2022, out of a universe of two thousand applications, 45 young graduates were selected.
