The Portuguese coach linked to the Ferroviário de Nampula club, Nelson Santos, was "invited" to leave the country for not having legal documents that would allow him to stay in Mozambique and play sports. Sheila Capela, spokeswoman of the Provincial Directorate of Migration in Nampula, said.
According to the Migration authorities of that province, the reason for the decision was the lack of a visa that would allow him to work in Mozambique as a soccer coach.
Migration authorities say that the Portuguese coach had a tourist and business visa and not a sports coach visa, which "seriously violates the law and the rules of the Mozambican Football Federation (FMF)."
The discovery of the illegality in the coach's documents occurred thanks to a routine work of checking the documents of all foreigners and found that the coach of Ferroviario de Nampula, of Portuguese nationality, was without a work permit, says a source of the FMF.
According to the same source, the institution instructed the citizen to voluntarily leave the country and go to process the visa that allows him to exercise the functions of soccer coach. In this case, the coach should only return and work in Mozambique, after meeting all the requirements for this purpose.
Note that before Ferroviário de Nampula, Nelson Santos has served as coach in two of the biggest clubs in the country, namely rivals Costa do Sol and Ferroviário de Maputo. At this moment, the locomotive team of the northern capital is under command of Paió Amarchande.
