The National Road Administration (ANE) says that the construction work on the new bridge and the rehabilitation of the existing bridge over the Save River, which began in July 2018, are at an advanced stage of execution.
As it is necessary to transport the pre-stressed reinforced concrete beams from the South bank to the North bank, and to carry out other works for the construction of the approach viaducts, as part of the works of the new bridge over the Save River, located on Road N1, Inhambane Province, the Administração Nacional de Estradas, ANE, IP, communicates to the general public and especially to the users of this bridge, that the traffic over the temporary bridge will be restricted for a maximum period of five (5) months, starting June 27, 2022.
The traffic flow conditioning will be implemented for both traffic directions on the temporary bridge, during working days and in two periods, namely from 07:30 hours to 09:30 hours and from 13:30 hours to 15:30 hours. Outside the times indicated above, traffic will be open to the public and with normal circulation of people and goods.
ANE-IP repeatedly appeals that, when circulating on national roads, the gross weight of vehicles should not exceed 48 tons, observing the permissible load limits per axle or group of axles.
ANE, IP apologizes for the inconvenience caused by this situation and calls for the understanding and cooperation of the users of this bridge.
