Senior Frelimo member and former SADC executive secretary Tomás Salomão stressed the importance of Daniel Chapo, the new President of the Republic, working for reconciliation among Mozambicans for the country's progress.

According to Salomão, Chapo must focus on building and developing Mozambique, to ensure that the country becomes an attractive destination for investment.

Salomão stressed that, before making any decision, Daniel Chapo must seek divine wisdom. Only with the guidance of the powerful God will it be possible to achieve true reconciliation in Mozambique.

He advised the new President to start a dialogue with Venâncio Mondlane, Ossufo Momade, Lutero Simango and other political leaders, to promote constant talks in favor of a united and prosperous Mozambique.

Tomás Salomão was speaking to the Mozambican press this morning as part of the inauguration of the new President of the Republic in Independence Square.
