Tik Tok, one of the world's most popular social networks, has surpassed one billion users, according to data from the company itself.

TikTok is known to have been released in August 2018, so it is a remarkable achievement.

Interest in TikTok increased during the pandemic, even becoming the most downloaded application worldwide in the first quarter of 2020. In this period alone, there were more than 300 million downloads, according to data from SensorTower.

Since the day it was launched, TikTok has registered 3.2 billion installations. This number also includes Douyin, the Chinese version of the application created by ByteDance.

The monthly average of network users last August was up 25% from August last year.

ByteDance, as a consequence, has also been increasing revenues, which are said to have more than doubled to $34.3 billion. In June of this year, the company was valued at $425 billion.
