The Technical Secretariat for Electoral Administration (STAE) intends to recruit approximately 7,000 civic education agents, whose responsibility is to mobilize and sensitize citizens to participate in the general elections on 9 October.

Speaking to "Notícias", STAE spokeswoman Regina Matsinhe explained that the candidates for electoral civic education agents that the body will train will then be selected throughout the country for the ideal number that it intends to hire.

The idea, says the source, is to ensure the broadest possible civic education campaign, reaching all citizens of voting age so that they are present on polling day.

It is known that civic education agents will have the task of informing the population about the different stages of the electoral process.

The campaign must also instill the spirit of citizenship, democracy, citizens' rights and duties, in accordance with the Constitution of the Republic and the electoral law.
