A police officer from the Republic of Mozambique was stabbed to death by unknown assailants the day before yesterday in the neighborhood of Manga, Sofala province.
The police officer went by the name of Francisco Simões, 28, and was assigned to the 1st Police Station, according to "Notícias", quoting the press officer at the PRM Provincial Command in Sofala, Marcos Nhampenza.
The source says that the murder took place at around 11 p.m. when he was doing his extra motorcycle cab work and was surprised by a group of young men posing as customers.
The perpetrators struck the victim multiple times with a knife. When the crime was completed, the perpetrators abandoned the body of the deceased and took possession of the motorcycle.
Marcos Nhampenza assured that work is underway to neutralize the group.
