All indications are that Samsung will introduce two new foldable phones this week, with rumors and constant leaks leaving no room for doubt that these are the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3.
According to Noticias ao Minuto, these promise to be Samsung's big year-end bets in a category that the company could comfortably dominate for some time to come.
In its latest research on the subject, Counterpoint Research indicates that it believes Samsung could have 75% of the market share in the foldable phone category. What's more, the South Korean tech is predicted to be able to sell up to 30 million of these types of devices by 2023.
This hegemony of Samsung is expected to happen even with the increased competitiveness of other manufacturers, Counterpoint says. Xiaomi, TCL, Honor and Google are believed to be preparing devices with foldable screens, but Samsung will still remain a major 'player' in this category in the next two.
