Samsung reinvents smartwatch and launches first foldable screen smartphone with included touch pen

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. announced the Galaxy Watch4 and Galaxy Watch4 Classic on Wednesday, marking a new era in smartwatch innovation. They are the first smartwatches to feature the new Wear OS Powered by Samsung, built in conjunction with Google™, and are equipped with One UI Watch, Samsung's most intuitive user interface to date, the company said in a statement sent to Executive Digest.

"We have seen incredible growth in the Galaxy Watch range as consumers have discovered the health benefits and convenience of wearables," said TM Roh, President and Head of Mobile Communications Business at Samsung Electronics. "We understand that the path to health is different for everyone, so we've built a robust set of health and wellness resources to give people a deeper and more useful understanding of their overall fitness."

The Galaxy Watch4 is equipped with Samsung's innovative BioActive Sensor, which features a smaller, more compact design that does not diminish measurement accuracy. This new 3-in-1 sensor uses a single chip to accurately perform three powerful health sensors - Optical Heart Rate, Electrical Heart and Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis - so users can monitor their blood pressure12, detect an irregular heartbeat AFib3, measure their oxygen level

The Galaxy Watch4 Series is also the first generation smartwatch to feature Wear OS Powered by Samsung - a new platform that elevates every aspect of the smartwatch experience.

Built by Samsung in conjunction with Google, this platform lets you explore an expansive ecosystem directly through your wrist, with popular Google apps12 like Google Maps and the much-acclaimed Galaxy services like Samsung Pay, SmartThings, and Bixby.

The new platform also includes support for third-party apps such as Adidas Running, Calm, Strava, and Spotify. Together with our advanced hardware and even more intuitive user interface, you can enjoy convenient integrated experiences with your Galaxy Watch4. For example, our integrated and improved compass works together with Google Maps to make it easier to explore a new location.

Just this Wednesday, the South Korean brand launched the Galaxy Z Fold3 and Galaxy Z Flip3 foldable smartphones, the former device will feature a touch pen, as had some Samsung smartphone models, which have since been discontinued.

"It is the first foldable phone that comes with a pen," Samsung said in a statement. "We have achieved that the latency (the time between the order issued by pressing on the screen and the appearance of the desired action) is 40% faster than on the Z Fold2," the brand added.
