The American R&B singer Robert Sylvester Kelly, known worldwide as R.Kelly, was found guilty this Wednesday of six sex crimes. Three counts of child pornography and three counts of sexual assault allegedly occurred in his hometown of Chicago.
However, R.Kelly was acquitted of a fourth child pornography charge, as well as on a conspiracy to obstruct prosecution charging him with fixing his state child pornography trial in 2008, according to "The Guardian." He was also found not guilty on three counts of conspiracy to receive child pornography and for two other grooming charges.
At trial, prosecutors sought to paint a picture of Kelly as a master manipulator who used his fame and wealth to lure fans, some of them minors, to sexually abuse and then discard them.
His two co-defendants, Derrel McDavid and Milton Brown, were found not guilty on all charges.
Recall that in September last year 55-year-old R. Kelly was sentenced to 30 years in prison for other sex crimes. Despite this, he is still awaiting two other trials for sexual misconduct - one in Minnesota and one in Chicago state court.
