The normal supply of drinking water to the 13 neighborhoods affected by the rupture of the pipeline, which supplies the cement zone of the city of Quelimane, in Zambézia province, affecting a total of 14 thousand customers, resumed this Thursday, September 29, according to the Investment Fund and Heritage of Water Supply - FIPAG.
The breakdown, which occurred near the Quelimane City Central Market, was repaired hours after it was detected by the FIPAG technical team, whose repair work consisted in removing the damaged pipe and its subsequent restoration.
Moments after the anomaly was registered, according to Gilberto Fernando dos Santos, director of FIPAG's Quelimane operational area, the institution ensured the alternative supply of drinking water to the affected neighborhoods through tanker trucks and a 20,000 liters tank, stationed at a strategic point of the city.
On the other hand, the re-piping, from the Licuar and Nicoadala catchments, was completely directed to the Sampene Distribution Center (DC), providing continuity of supply to the neighborhoods of Namunho, Murrobue, Singaraveira, Coalane, Sampane, Floresta B, and 7 de Abril.
The breakdown had compromised the normal water supply to the Piloto, Sinacura, Kansa 1 and 2, Aeroporto, Saguara, Toroni New and Old, Isidua, Chuabo Dembe, Bairro Novo and Pequeno Brasil neighborhoods.
