Ukrainian officials are skeptical that the Russian side will comply with the grain export agreement, saying it is a mistake to "believe Vladimir Putin's words about unblocking grain."

"Just recently, he publicly lied to Erdogan saying that everything is fine and they shook hands, but the next day the port of Odessa was bombed. We can't trust the Russians. I think Erdogan will be sure of this very soon. And the only way out of this situation is the forced unblocking," said the Lugansk governor.

Sergii Haidi made these statements to Portuguese television RTP moments after returning from a combat front, in Dnipro, about 100 km from Lugansk, which today is mostly taken by Russian forces.

The governor said that Ukraine will win the war and the only problem will always be its prolongation because that means importing more weapons from the West and losing, every day, soldiers' and civilians' lives.

Haidi acknowledged that the weapons delivered by the West are halting the Russian offensive, but said they are still insufficient to make the invaders back down.

"To break the line of military actions from the Kherson to Lugansk regions we need about 100 HIMARS [High Mobility Artillery Rocket System. In this case we will not only stop them, but we will attack their warehouses, their weapons depots, their vehicles, and then they will have nothing to fight with. As soldiers they are a disgrace on the battlefield]," said, Sergii Haidi.
