The case of the teacher killed for denouncing corruption schemes in the payment of salaries remains unresolved a year later

Caso do professor morto por denunciar esquemas de corrupção no pagamento de salários continua sem desfecho, um ano depois

The case of teacher Telvino Manuel Benedito, who was found dead in the early hours of December 2, 2023 in Mocuba, after making a complaint against a scheme of illegal deductions from teachers' salaries, remains unresolved, writes the Center for Democracy and Human Development (CDD).

The process to clarify the crime, which is being carried out by the National Criminal Investigation Service (SERNIC) in Mocuba, is not progressing, although the individuals linked to the crime have been located and known, the CDD document indicates.

This case aims to clarify the circumstances in which teacher Telvino Manuel Benedito met his death, following a series of public denunciations made by him in order to uncover a scheme by the Coordinator of the Pedagogical Influence Zone in Mocuba to embezzle teachers' salaries.

Today, Monday, December 16, is one year and fourteen days without Professor Telvino Manuel Benedito and without justice, so the NGO that we have been citing urges SERNIC and the Public Prosecutor's Office at the highest level to shed light on the crime committed against Professor Telvino Manuel Benedito, and to charge and convict the criminals.
