Primeiro-Ministro britânico renuncia ao cargo. “O melhor emprego do mundo”

British politician, Boris Johnson, gave in to pressure from the Conservative Party and resigned as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom today and has already tendered his resignation to Queen Elizabeth II.

However, Boris Johnson will remain in office until a new government is appointed, and he assures that he will support his successor as much as he can.

""I will continue to serve until there is a new leader and he will have my full support," he said from No. 10 Downing Street, the Prime Minister's official residence and office.

Addressing the British people, Johnson said that "this time the strength of the herd was greater," and "when the herd moves everyone moves." But he is proud of "the goals he has achieved with the current government" with the major challenges of the last three years, but also in the face of a difficult economic scenario.

In a more "intimate" statement he said, "And I want you to know how sad I am to be giving up the best job in the world."

Just today, Boris Johnson appointed a new Government that will be in place until a new leader is elected.

Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson came to the post of prime minister in 2019 after the resignation of his predecessor, Conservative leader Theresa May.
