In two weeks' time, the Mambas will begin their preparations for the African Nations Championship, CAN 2023, to be held between January and February 2024 in Côte d'Ivoire.

The national coach, Chiquinho Conde, was quoted by Rádio Moçambique as saying that for this international competition, twelve players who play in Mozambique will be called up to join the others who play outside the country.

Still according to the same source, Chiquinho Conde also guaranteed that the list of pre-qualifiers for the CAN operation was ready.

The National Football Team will travel to Ivory Coast on January 2, where they will carry out a training camp ahead of the start of the top competition in African soccer.

Mozambique is in Group B and will face Cape Verde, Ghana and Egypt in the first phase of the competition.
